Redondo Beach, CA—October 12, 2009—The Wellness Community-South Bay Cities, Los Angeles (TWC-SBC) held the seventh annual Girls Night Out event to raise awareness of breast cancer and to celebrate survivorship…and quite successfully. The event resulted in proceeds of over $85,000 which will be directed to free group support programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. “With the present state of our economy we are grateful that our sponsors, auction donors, and guests opened up their hearts and their wallets to support this great event” said Judith Opdahl, TWC Executive Director. The lineup of comedians, the cuisine, auction items, and the atmosphere were unsurpassed. Sponsoring the event were South Bay BMW, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center-Torrance, The Jacqueline Glass Family, American Business Bank, Easy Reader/Beach Magazine/Peninsula People, Breastlink, Daily Breeze, El Segundo Herald/Hawthorne Press Tribune/Manhattan Beach Sun, End Results, InspiredSilver.com, Maison RIZ, Preferred Bank, Terry Opdahl Insurance Agency, Inc., The Beach Reporter, The Comedy & Magic Club, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Torrance Radiology Medical Group, Vantage Oncology, Weintraub Communication Consulting, Winkler Plastic, LLC.
“We couldn’t have done it without their support, and for that we are very thankful” said Judith Opdahl, Executive Director. For more information about TWC-SBC’s free group support programs call 310-376-3550 or visit www.wellnessandcancer.org.
